An Afternoon Stroll
El Jem, Tunisia | July 27, 2019
What stood out to me most about this man walking across the top of El Jem Amphitheater is not that he was so high up nor that it looked like he was in a part of the Amphitheater he should not have been, but how casually he traversed it. He was not recording himself or his view from that height, and he went about hoping from stone to stone so nonchalantly it appeared to me as though he had done this multiple times. I do not know if he was indeed in an area that was off limits, but I like the idea of this man coming every few weeks, disregarding the rules of the Amphitheater and using this ancient arena of entertainment as his playground and a source of his own kind of entertainment hundreds of years later.
