With a background in Critical Theory, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and Cultural Anthropology, Dr. Malaklou will share her research about gender and sexuality as identities excluding Black people from Euro-American discourses of modernity (or its chronopolitics) and advise undergraduates on related professions and education.

Amuna Mohamed, founder of the Black Arabs Collective, will discuss her work for the collective through a conversation exploring the Black Arab/Afro-Arab identity, the roots of anti-Black racism, and racial contexts across regions. In light of the global social justice movements regarding systemic racism, this event will dive into ever-more-important topics you don’t want to miss.
